Winter 2020/2021 Covid-19 Operating Procedures

The following measures are put in place to ensure we keep everyone safe and our community healthy, and are consistent with the National Ski Area Association (NSAA) “Ski Well, Be Well” Ski Area Best Operating Practices.

While visiting the mountain, the yurt, and facilities, we ask you remember these main principles:

  • You must have a face mask on at all times while in all lift lines, while riding the chairlifts, and in all public spaces. NO MASK, NO SERVICE. Thank you for keeping our staff safe to provide services!

  • Keep at least six feet distance from non-household members.

  • Please practice good hygiene, stay home if you feel unwell, wash your hands, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.

  • Your car is your lodge.

What to Expect

  • The Yurt is a universal mask-mandatory area.

  • Use your vehicle as your lodge. Be prepared to use your vehicle to gear up, bring hydration and snacks. Fill your tank up with gas before you enter the pass.

  • The Yurt will have grab and go food options. The Yurt will not function as a restaurant. Skeetawk will contract food trucks for outside eating options.

  • There will be no gear or equipment storage in the Yurt.

  • The Yurt will have decreased capacity and time in the Yurt will be limited.

  • Skeetawk will have limited bathroom facilities.

  • The Yurt will have designated entrance and exit doors. There will not be entrance and exit from the same door

Skeetawk is Alaska’s newest and  most rugged ski area! Be prepared to be self-sufficient this season. We hope to add additional services as we grow and as Covid-19 conditions change. Until then we are thrilled to provide lift-access skiing to the community and we thank you for your patience and support. With your help following these guidelines we can stay open and healthy!
